In the dark and uncharted wilds of Enveron, the echoes of ancient creatures stir, restless and fierce. Beasts of Enveron unlocks a trove of new challenges for your ongoing campaign, bringing with it a host of fearsome NPC beasts that roam with unpredictable intent.
From the relentless Split-Tail Rats to the hulking Crag Troll, each has unique mechanics that will test even the bravest of Adventurers.
Yet, with new creatures come new discoveries: rare and powerful items crafted from the spoils of the hunt, protective armour fashioned from the tough hide of a Crag Troll, the elusive Skin Shifter Cloak, and even brutal traps set to injure any beast, or adventurer, who may wander into them. Among these treasures lies a token marking the entrance to a hidden cave, a place of mystery where none who entered have returned. Do you dare enter?
Great Bear
A product of the gene farms of the distant past, the Great Bear was modified to appear more fearsome than the standard bear with larger teeth and claws and heavy musculature.
This tampering resulted in high levels of aggression which have increased over the subsequent generations. It is a ferocious beast, in near constant fury, ready to tear an unfortunate Adventurer apart for the temerity of being in its presence!
Crag Troll
Crag Trolls are large and solitary, and although they appear man-like on two legs and can grasp objects with their hands they more closely resemble beasts. They are peaceful when left undisturbed but will attack on sight and must be regarded as a threat.
The troll’s skin is as close to rock as a living, breathing creature can have, being almost completely insensitive to pain and extremely tough. The crevices of its skin are host to the fauna it is surrounded by giving it partial camouflage. Trolls mostly inhabit the north of Enveron, particularly the dank forests of the Wights and the Hyberian mountains.
Alary
The Alary are the twisted cousins of mythical fairies. More of a pest than a threat to a healthy Adventurer they can still deliver a painful sting by shooting poisoned barbs.
The barbs are not immediately fatal but are debilitating.
Skin Shifter
Once human, a Skin Shifter is created by forbidden magic. It will turn the victim into a twisted parody of themselves, grotesquely swollen and twisted around in their own skin. Eventually the Skin Shifter’s body will revert back, more or less, and they may attempt a quiet life in a remote area, away from prying eyes.
However, any triggering event, such as a thunderstorm, will cause another transformation. Each transformation warps the victim in body and mind. The longer they live the more bestial they will become, eventually turning even the mildest farmhand into a twisted killer. Any Skin Shifter that the Adventurers encounter will have shed the last of their humanity long ago.
Bloodwyrm
The Bloodwyrm is a large, carnivorous beast that will attack on sight. They can tunnel through solid earth and will burst out and attack any unfortunate in their way. They are also able to move above ground, scuttling on pincers that they use as rudimentary legs.
In addition to the miniature, this expansion also includes six Bloodwyrm pit markers, appearing each time this deadly creature burrows beneath the ground.
Split-Tail Rats
The split-tail is the dreaded descendant of the common sewer rat.
As large as a cat, diseased and always ravenous a swarm of Split-tails can reduce an injured adventurer to the bone.
With Beasts of Enveron, the dungeons of Mesa become more unpredictable and perilous, as these creatures add fresh layers of excitement and danger to your journey.
Fully modular, this expansion is ready to slot seamlessly into any campaign, even mid-way through. Just shuffle their Event cards into the deck and let the beasts roam!
Whether you’re in the thick of the action or just beginning your adventure, these creatures are poised to add new twists and challenges, bringing your game to life with every encounter.
