Battle Systems – August 25 Update

7th August 2025

We pulled Colin in front of a camera for an update and it was a good one. Forbidden Creed is now available to pre-order, new adversaries and adventurers are coming to Maladum, and two new terrain settings are on the way. Below is a full summary of the video, plus extra info, images and lore.

The Forbidden Creed Available for Pre-Order

This narrative expansion for Maladum takes you to the ruined keep of Duhn-Linn, where you must battle a cabal of Maladaar high in the mountains and quell their forbidden magic. They are attempting to call upon the Ascendant, but can your Adventurers command it instead?

We’ve got a full month of content planned to explore the expansion in more detail, so keep an eye out.

Terrain and Gaming Mat Available for Pre-Order

Frosty Crags Gaming Mat

This mat is designed as a cosmetic upgrade for the Forbidden Creed expansion for Maladum, but can be used for any other game or purpose.

Available as 2′ x 2′ / 60cm x 60cm this gaming mat depicts a frosty mountain plateau with a subtle 1″/25mm grid. It is printed in high quality on fabric with a 1mm neoprene backing. It can be combined with similar mats (including our Dungeon mats) to make a larger battlefield and can be rolled or folded for easy storage.

Ruined Mountain Keep

This terrain pack contains parts to build the frosty mountain keep of Duhn-Lin, identical to the one in the Forbidden Creed expansion for Maladum.

The Urmeck

Not much is known about the Urmeck but it I’s believed that in ancient times the Ormen swept across Enveron, devastating armies and laying claim on the lands that they conquered. Over time they wearied of their duties and slowly integrated into the civilisations they had vanquished, their fierce origins almost forgotten.

One branch of the Ormen, the Urmeck, shunned contact with all other races and moved underground, to vast subterranean caverns where they remained for centuries, their fierce natures undiluted, fighting amongst themselves in bloody tribal feuds.

The strongest tribes of Urmeck, having finally defeated their rivals, have now started making excursions into the over-ground. Are they merely searching for resources or do they want to conquer Enveron as their ancestors once did?

The Urmek are distinct from the Ormen, they have much paler skin and their eyes have become accustomed to complete darkness. The Urmeck are skilled in certain forbidden arts allowing them to breed different genetic strains of Urmeck including the large and powerful  Bruteck, used for fighting and heavy labour and the smaller Shamaneck, comparatively weak but intelligent and strong in the use of Maladum.

Hyberian and Urmeck Terrain

In Colin’s update, we got a look at the latest progress on some of the Hyberian Terrain set, previously only shown in white, now taking shape with full detail, along with a glimpse of the blacksmith’s forge. We’re saving sneak peeks of the Urmeck terrain for a future update, but for now, scroll down to see images and some sneak details of the Hyberian terrain.

That’s everything for now!

We’ve got plenty more coming over the next few weeks, including deep dives into the new expansion, gameplay videos, and free missions and quests. As always, thanks for your support, happy gaming!
