The ancient tower of Barrowcap was once part of a string of watch fortresses in the foothills below the Meera Mountains. Built to guard the kings of old Khaarastad, its once stout walls now serve only to shelter ravens from icy mountain winds. Legends speak of Barrowcap playing host to the final defeat of the last of the Pretender Kings during the fall of the old order. Locals shun the ill-omened place as a result, but the cleric Forwin believes it might be the key to unearthing secrets to tackle the threat from the Revenants and the corrupting Blight that is spreading with them. You suspect the old man trusts too much in his dusty old tomes, but you have no better ideas and, if nothing else, ruins like this often contain valuable loot. After a hard march, you arrived to find the ruins occupied by a bandit group and that the area has not been spared the undead blight, judging by the pile of rotting Revenant bodies the bandits have stacked up outside. So much for a chance to catch a breather, it looks like you’ve got a fight on your hands.
This Quest follows on from The King’s Brides. In it you will encounter a gang of corrupted bandits haunting an ruined watch fortress and attempt to unearth clues to put an end to the undead plague.
This Quest uses the Beyond The Vaults rules and our Fantasy Dungeon terrain. It is the second part of a mini-campaign to recover a powerful ancient relic called the Soul Siphon.
Expansions Needed: Beyond The Vaults, Fantasy Dungeon Terrain*, Deluxe Rulebook or The Forbidden Creed (for Corruption rules)
*As with most of our Quests, if you don’t have the specific terrain described, you can build a layout that matches the Quest’s map as closely as possible using the terrain from the starter box. You should get a similar experience as long as you replicate the key elements.
