Terrain Suitable
for Kill Team

Terrain makes a huge difference in Kill Team. Leave too much open space and the board quickly changes from a tactical firefight into a shooting gallery. You want plenty of cover, different levels to fight over, and enough obstacles that moving across open ground always comes with a bit of risk. Battle Systems sci-fi terrain is suitable for Kill Team and 25-35mm miniatures. Gothic ruins, industrial buildings, gantries and walkways give you plenty of cover and height, while containers, barricades and scatter terrain help break up those longer firing lanes. It all comes pre-printed in full colour, so there’s no painting needed. And because the terrain can be rearranged, you can build a different battlefield for the next game.

Modular Terrain Suitable for Kill Team

Terrain that actually blocks line of sight

Good Kill Team terrain needs to do more than look good. It needs to get in the way.

Battle Systems sets use solid walls and full-height structures to properly break up lines of sight across the board. Ruins have playable interiors, gantries give you space above and below and if an operative ducks behind a wall, they’re actually out of sight.

One set, plenty of layouts

You’re not stuck building the same board every game. Break everything down, move a few walls around and rebuild it into something completely different. A tight industrial complex one game can become a more open gothic battlefield the next.

When you’re finished, most of the terrain can be taken apart and stored flat. Handy if you’re short on space or regularly take your terrain to a club or tournament.

And because it’s designed for 25-35mm miniatures, the same terrain can be used across plenty of other skirmish games too.

What to buy first

If you want to fill a table quickly, the 4×4 Alien Catacombs Bundle gives you a lot of terrain to work with straight away.

For something more gothic and industrial, Gothic Cityscape and Gothic Ruins give you plenty of walls, buildings and elevation, while Ruined Catacombs adds tighter spaces and interiors.

From there, add scatter like Trade Containers, Sci-fi Equipment, Deadly Stakes and the Industrial Turbine to fill gaps and break up firing lanes.

No painting. No weekend lost to building terrain.

Everything comes flat-packed and pre-printed in full colour on both sides, so you can get it onto the table without priming, painting or waiting for washes to dry.

The main terrain clips together without glue. Some smaller pieces, such as crates, do need gluing, and you might choose to glue a few bits of scatter permanently just to make life easier.

FAQs

Is Battle Systems terrain suitable for Kill Team?

Yes. Battle Systems makes dense, modular sci-fi terrain suitable for Kill Team, with gothic ruins, industrial structures, gantries and scatter that block line of sight and create real cover. It is built for 25-35mm miniatures and resets into a new layout for every mission.

How much terrain does a Kill Team board need?

Kill Team rewards a busy board. One modular set will cover a standard play area with cover and elevation. Adding a second set, or a handful of scatter packs, gives you the height, line of sight blockers and layout variety that keep missions from turning into target practice.

Does the terrain properly block line of sight?

Yes. The sets use solid walls, full-height structures and multi-level floors that genuinely break line of sight, rather than low decoration you can shoot over.

Does it need painting?

No. Every piece is pre-printed in full colour on both sides and is ready to use straight from the box. There is no priming or painting, so you can build a full, good-looking Kill Team board in an evening rather than over a season.

What scale is the terrain?

The terrain is proportioned for 25-35mm scale miniatures, so operatives easily fit on walkways and take full cover behind walls.

Do you make gaming mats to go with it?

Yes. Battle Systems gaming mats are designed to sit under the terrain, so the floor matches the structures on top of it. A mat plus one modular set is a complete, ready-to-play board with no hobby time in between. Several of our larger core terrain sets come with neoprene mat in the box.

Can I use the same terrain for other games?

Yes. The same modular sci-fi terrain works across 25-35mm skirmish games, including Core Space, our own sci-fi skirmish game, and as terrain suitable for Necromunda and Warhammer 40K. One collection covers several systems rather than one.
